Mindful Movement!
In 2023, I set out to become a Certified Yoga Instructor.
In 2024 I finalized my certified, with a primary emphasis of Vinyassa Flow. I have also achieved Yin Yoga, Children’s Yoga, and Inside Flow Certifications, in addition I’ve completed a Sound Healing program with an expectation to offer mindful and meditative sound, during Savasana.
Although I have practiced Yoga, off and on for many years, I have also experienced a number of injuries and medical procedures that sidelined me many times over the last decade as well, including a stint in a wheel chair. So, thank goodness I Love Yoga, because the truth is, in order to keep my body in motion, keep up with grandkids, be active in my older years, I Must practice yoga, my 62 year old body demands it.
When I entered covid, I couldn’t touch my toes, couldn’t do Childs pose. These days, I do MY variation of Dancer Pose, in my perfectly imperfect way, nearly everywhere we go, for fun photos! Body swaying, legs shaking, always praying I won’t fall over and take others with me. My goal is to be able to help others find movement, in a body they thought would never see it again.
What style(s) of yoga will be offered?
VINYASA FLOW- Vinyasa Style Yoga classes for experienced beginner+ students currently practicing yoga.
GENTLE VINYASA FLOW - Vinyasa Style Yoga class for individuals brand new to yoga or those looking for a slow flow with an emphasis on alignment and pose familiarization.
INSIDE FLOW YOGA - A NEW evolution of Vinyasa Yoga! Inside Flow offers yoga sequences, choreographed to music of every genre. These 90 minute classes will incorporate yoga, dance and music, with the idea that "Music is the language of the heart”. “It helps us to convey feelings through motion.” Each month a new flow will be offered and practiced together weekly. This class will encourage students to come together and “Move as One”. Looking for something new? Try Inside Flow."
MINDFUL MOVEMENT - Like Vinyasa Flow above, with the addition of a 30 minute meditation, following class.
YIN YOGA - This slow-paced, meditative style of yoga, with fewer postures, held longer, will offer increased circulation in joints and improved flexibility.
All sequences will work to focus on the “One Breath, One Movement” philosophy of Vinyassa Yoga. Blocks, bolsters, straps, towels etc., as well as shape modifications, will be used, to open, strengthen, lengthen and quiet our bodies. The goal is to be sure Vinyassa flow is available to yogis of different abilities, ages and interests. The sequences will help build strength, flexibility and balance. I will work to include mindfulness in the movements for inner peace, confidence, calm and a sense of community with fellow students.
Whether you are advanced, know the basics of yoga, or have never stepped to the mat before, I would be grateful for the opportunity to meet you where you are and practice in community for mind and body wellness.
I am passionate about bringing movement to “Every Body and Every Body Type” and look forward to doing just that!
I have been offering classes at home, since mid 2023. While those classes are full, I am currently working out a larger location, where I will be offering the above classes, on a regular basis.
